Anders Kilström


Anders Kilström studied at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm (1980-86) with Prof Gunnar Hallhagen and at the Banff Centre in Canada (1988). His other teachers include Tatiana Nikolajeva, György Sebök and Colette Zerah.
Anders Kilström made his debut in Stockholm (1986) with Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, together with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. He represented Sweden at the Scandinavian Soloist Biennial in Reykjavik, 1988, and was one of the finalists of Lansering 90, Concerts Sweden’s national project to launch Sweden’s foremost young musicians. Since 1989 he is a member of KammarensembleN.
Today Kilström is an active soloist and chamber muscians performing in Europe, North America and Asia. He has performed with conductors such as Neeme Järvi, Franz Welser-Möst, Hans Vonk, Heinz Wallberg, Elgar Howarth and Hans Graf. During the past few seasons, he has performed with orchestras such as the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Weimar (Germany) and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Sofia (Bulgaria). During the 2002-2003 season Anders Kilström performed with KammarensembleN in Warszaw and Hong Kong, as well as in Finland and Carnegie Hall in New York.
Kilström has a large repertoire and has premiered a number of newly composed works. He has recorded several CDs for Caprice, Daphne, Nytorp Musik and Musica Sveciae. In 2004, he released a CD of contemporary Swedish piano music.
